The experience
Images become long lasting the second you immerse yourself into the process: concept, strategy, execution and creation. It all serves a purpose, from the medium to the final output; mechanical or electronic, film or digital, photographic prints or digital files, either one or both. I use photography to document creatively, no matter the subject matter it all becomes a collaborative project; it’s the back and forth movement between the people I document and I, creating a comfortable space for them to be able to express themselves so they can truly love the work WE have created.
I focus mainly on portraits, of any kind. I use traditional lighting techniques that best suit my subjects to their benefit, and with my expertise in posing I aim to look at the small details some might overlook. My portrait work can range from the simplest to intricate, each with its own complexity that requires said comfort level. Either indoor studio or on-location, I’m invested in finding the right moments to photograph and document people’s uniqueness. I always offer the option of film photography, which favours skin tones on colour and black and white film creates a different view on reality.
